The Pray 4·40 List

1. Pray 4 Daily Walks like Enoch–Dear Heavenly Father, Thank-you for walking with me each and every day. Thank-you for helping me synchronize my life with You and keeping it in-phase with You. Thank-you for this intimate time we can share together. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
2. Pray 4 Deliverance like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego–Dear Heavenly Father, Once upon a time I didn’t have any stories to tell. Thank-you for the tests you give me. Thank-you for visiting me while I am in the fiery furnace. Thank-you for delivering me so that You are glorified by my stories. Thank-you for letting me live happily ever after with You. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
3. Pray 4 A Generous Heart like the Poor Widow–Dear Heavenly Father, Thank-you for the countless blessings you have poured out upon me. Thank-you for giving me a generous heart so that I may share these blessings with others and bring glory to You and Your heavenly kingdom. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
4. Pray 4 Noble Character like Ruth–Dear Heavenly Father, Thank-you for the opportunity of each day, and for filling each day with little things that matter. Thank-you for giving me the “noble character” of Ruth. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
5. Pray 4 Prayer-Ability like the Disciple of Jesus–Dear Heavenly Father, Thank-you for teaching me how to pray. Thank-you for letting me share with you all the things on my heart. Thank-you for helping me improve my “prayer-ability.” In the name of Jesus, Amen.
6. Pray 4 Purpose like Hadassah (Queen Esther)–Dear Heavenly Father, Thank-your for having a purpose for my life. Thank-you for putting me right where I need to be, when I need to be there. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
7. Pray 4 Self-Forgiveness like Peter–Dear Heavenly Father, Thank-you for the stain-removing power of the sacrifice of Jesus. Thank-you for Your divine forgiveness. Thank-you for allowing me to repent and helping me to forgive myself, too. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
8. Pray 4 Serenity like Paul–Dear Heavenly Father, Thank-you for the times You tell me “no.” Thank-you for the comfort, calm and peace of Your serenity. Thank-you for your wisdom, and thank-you for Your grace which makes me perfect even when I am weak. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
9. Pray 4 Tears like Jesus–Dear Heavenly Father, Thank-you for the gift of tears. Thank-you for the gift of love. Thank-you for the gift of eternal life so that I will never be separated from you. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
